There are many accommodation options at King Ash Bay Fishing Club. Most people bring Caravans, Tents, Camper Trailers or other camping equipment. But if you want a little bit more comfort, then the King Ash Bay Lodge is a good option.

Under new ownership since the start of 2016 the young couple running the show are Ash and Kate. They are very approachable and friendly and keep the lodge and gardens in great shape.

Since taking over in 2016, the most exciting new edition is the swimming pool surrounded by a beautiful deck. Fully fenced to keep any visiting kids safe. Also complete with a shade sail to keep the temperature perfect even in the hottest of weather.

The lodge itself has several rooms that connect to a common living and kitchen area as well as two bathrooms. All the rooms are individually air-conditioned. I remember when I first read about the King Ash Bay Lodge that you would be sharing with other visitors, I was a bit put-off by the idea. But after spending some time there (which has now turned into A LOT of time) you realize that anyone else that is staying there is exactly the same as you. They have come to stay there because they are on the big Aussie Road Trip. The adventure of a lifetime. They love their fishing, and they love having a beer and a BBQ in the afternoon just like you.

In fact, there were two groups staying in the Lodge earlier this year at the same time. They had never met before. They got along together so well that they have booked their stay for next year together as well!

If you do really want your own space, connected to the Lodge is another room called “the unit.” And it is quite simply that, a unit. It has it’s own bedroom, ensuite, kitchen and small living area.

My personal favourite is the main lodge area. It has a big kitchen and dining area, which is right next to the lounge/TV area and pool table.

There is outdoor areas at each end of the lodge, which means there is always somewhere to sit outside out of the sun any time of the day. Both outdoor areas have their own BBQ. The back outdoor area is a large deck where the dart board is located. And it’s right next to the pool.

Lets face it, most people visiting King Ash Bay Fishing Club are coming here for the fishing. The lodge is well set up for that too, with loads of parking and a big drive-around driveway. No need to reversing. There is also a fish scaling table set up out the back too.

It’s a great location, just a short walk from Groper’s Bar and Grill.
